Abstract
Until 2002, hormone [replacement] therapy (HT) was first-line therapy for prevention (and treatment) of postmenopausal osteoporosis (PMOP). It was thought that any risks associated with HT were far outweighed by potential long-term benefits (mainly cardiovascular protection).
